Carnivals in Italy

More than 200 years of history has the carnival in Ivrea. Citizens, as in past centuries, dress up in period costumes, are the sounds of drums and bagpipes, a colorful procession with flags around the city, attracting the attention of thousands of specially tourists from all over the world. Carnevale d’ivrea takes one week, ending with the famous battle of the Oranges, and including parades, music, and a giant bonfire. But the pelting each other with oranges attracts the most attention.

The history of Warfare has its roots in the 12th century, then the Duke, Governor of the region, established a “tradition”, according to which he was entitled to spend one night with each newly married woman in his possession. Of course, some men agreed with this because of fear of reprisals from the Almighty Duke, but the legend says that a young woman named violet was not going to enter into relationship with the Duke – and instead of simply to refuse him, she cut his head. What better way to tell about the country and its inhabitants than local holidays and festivals? The Vietnamese are a proud people, tempered in battle for their country, respecting age-old traditions, religious people, and yet that is rapidly growing and keeping up with the times.

The reason for many of the holidays were the legends which were told to the present day the history of Vietnam.
