The history of the festival of Las Fallas is rooted in the pagan celebration of the spring equinox, originally associated with the burning of the craft tion devices called “parot”.
“Paratime” was called a wooden fixture that was mounted lamps during the winter carpenters work, they resembled wooden candelabra.
With the onset of the warm season and the increase in the length of daylight, “paratech” no longer needed, and the burning thereof in front of the houses has become a tradition.
Already in the XV century there was a mention of a strange day when carpenters wooden lamps burn.
The Spaniards, with their inherent optimism and extremely positive attitude to change, always believed that with last goodbyes, otherwise nothing new can come in return, and the fire in this sense was for their rituals irreplaceable way of transition to a new stage. On this philosophy and is based celebration of Las Fallas.
